Our Story

From the Theatre District to the World Trade Center

Stage Door Delicatessen is and will remain an old world staple and tradition of NYC. Our first founded establishment in the late 60’s and early 70’s — then named Back Stage Delicatessen, of which there were several — was located in the heart of Rockefeller Center. We catered to actors and artists alike, including the world famous NYC Rockettes in the Theatre District.

Our passion for “Real Food” has only grown since. We gather only the finest, Grade A ingredients to serve our patrons nationwide — from California, to sunny Florida, and right here in NY. Some of our specialties include slow cooked pastrami, corned beef and brisket like no other, made to melt in your mouth with bursts of spice and flavor.

Repeat customers from nearly every state in the country stop in as a “must do” when visiting NYC. All of our baking is done on premises, and we continue to strive for excellence when serving you.
