Ron Gordon
Watch Repair

Certified Rolex service and repair for Omega, TAG Heuer, and every major Swiss and luxury watch brand — done in-house, in Midtown Manhattan, by the watchmaker himself.

The Watchmaker

Three generations at the bench.

My father and grandfather were both master watchmakers. My grandfather had a watchmaking machine shop in the basement of his house, producing watch components in the early 1920s. My father continued the business after my grandfather died — and I started working on watches when I was nine years old, helping him make components and honing my trade.

After high school, I went to the Joseph Bulova School of Watchmaking, one of the finest in the world, and graduated in 1976 as a professional watch repairman. That year, I opened my own business, Ron Gordon Watches.

I have over 30 years of experience repairing everything from wristwatches and waterproof dive watches to complex chronographs and stop watches — and I've done work for Van Cleef & Arpels and Alfred Dunhill watches for over 20 years. I also carry a vast personal inventory of vintage Zodiac parts, imported myself from Switzerland.

“If you love your watch, I will repair it to its very best with the skill and craftsmanship of a true watch expert.”

The Service

Certified Rolex service, done in-house.

All Rolex service happens on-site, in a Midtown workshop equipped with modern testing machinery. Every complete maintenance service follows the same six steps:

  1. 1Complete disassembly of the movement; repair or replace any worn or damaged parts with genuine components.
  2. 2Reassemble the watch, oil the movement, and regulate time to factory specifications.
  3. 3Restore water resistance to factory requirements by replacing all gaskets.
  4. 4Refinish the case and bracelet to manufacturer specifications.
  5. 5Full visual and technical inspection.
  6. 6A final 72-hour analysis before the watch goes back on your wrist.

The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute recommends a complete overhaul every 3–5 years. If your watch is running more than two or three minutes fast or slow a day, it's time. Bring it in — or mail it in from anywhere via FedEx or UPS — for a free estimate.
