Our Story
Three Generations on Ninth Avenue
Giovanni Esposito opened a butcher shop in 1932 in Hell’s Kitchen with his three sons: Teddy, Armando, and Anthony. The quality of the meats and their personal service soon became the formula for success, and Esposito Meat Shop developed a reputation as one of the finest butchers in New York City.
After all three sons served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, they continued their father’s tradition of quality products and outstanding customer service. Teddy expanded the offerings to meet the changing needs of their customers, who now came from all over the city to shop at Esposito.
Today, Teddy’s son Robert continues the Esposito tradition, offering a wide range of meats and poultry to both local customers and corporate accounts — carrying on the legacy left to him by his grandfather, uncles, and father.
