The Room
A coal oven and a piano, running since 1957
Arturo's has been firing pizza in the same coal oven on West Houston Street since 1957 — Italian-American red-sauce cooking, served in a dim, wood-paneled room where the walls are stacked floor to ceiling with decades of photographs, plaques, and memorabilia. Every night, a jazz combo sets up in the corner and plays until closing.
It's a supper club first, a pizzeria always: come for the coal-oven pie, stay for the trio.
